SPONSOR A CYO HORSE
Help support our beloved CYO Camp Horses by sponsoring one of our horses through our adopt a horse program or by becoming one of Hijack’s heroes. Every CYO horse receives excellent care including feed, veterinarian care, foot trims ,equipment (including blankets) and training. These costs add up each month. By sponsoring a camp horse you can help CYO by providing a regular sustainable flow of donations to help pay for our horse’s needs.* If one of our camp horses needs to retire from our program we find excellent homes for them. Past camp horses have made excellent family horses, surrogate mothers, as well as therapy horses. Our horses never go to auction or slaughter at the end of their life. Hijack’s heroes are donors that help sponsor projects at the corral including pasture improvements, shelters, and construction projects to help the horses.
Here are all of the horses available for sponsorship including a small bio about them. Once you select which horse you would like to sponsor please click on their photo to be directed to our our secure donation page. In the notes section of the donation please indicate what horse or project you will be sponsoring. Sponsors will receive regular updates on their horses. We’ve also included an amazon wish list for items you can purchase for the horses.
*We provide the best care possible for all of our camp horses regardless of if they are sponsored or not.
Hijack’s Heroes
This money will be used to buy horses for camp and for capital improvements at the corral.
Hijack was an Icelandic horse who started with our program at only 4 years old. He was very patient with our beginner riders and challenged our advanced ones. Hijack’s goofy personality and care for the campers were really the heart of our program. Unfortunately we lost Hijack to colic in 2023.

Ava
Ava (the one on the right) is a Quarter horse mare. Ava is a camp favorite because of her easy going personality and care for her riders. Now that Ava is getting older she is getting special shoes as well as additional feed and supplements. Ava can be found snuggling with her best friend Rose in the pasture.
Born: 1998
Chance
Chance is a quarter horse gelding. We call chance our unicorn. He is so gentle and sweet with all of our campers. He has an old shoulder injury that does not allow him to do more than short pony rides with light riders. He’s on maintenance medication for his injury and has some additional supplements and meds he takes.
Born 2004
Chevy
Chevy is a quarter horse mare. Chevy is a very caring girl who loves our riders. She has a dropped hip which might make her backside look a little funny, but that doesn’t slow her down. She loves trail rides and being groomed, which is a good thing since her mane is constantly getting tangles.
Born 2004
Norman
Norman is a quarter pony cross. He was generously donated to us in the fall of 2024. Norman has an extensive ranch and kids riding background. We are excited to have him part of our program to help our riders learn and grow.
Born 2007
Oreo
Oreo is a miniature gelding. He was donated to us when Chance returned to camp. He’s our smallest horse, but our biggest personality. We’re not sure how old he is, but he’s a senior. We hope his humor and kindness help all of our kids learn about horsemanship from him.
Born Sometime in the late 1990s
Rose
Rose (the one on the left) is a Thoroughbred Arabian cross. Rose is best friends with Ava. She is very graceful and feels like riding a carousel pony. Rose is getting older and needs additional feed and medication to maintain a healthy weight. She is also receiving annual steroid injections in her knee.
Born 1998
Whiskey
Mr Whiskey was generously donated to us in the spring of 2024. He is a steady horse for all of our riders. He loves trail rides. Whiskey is also a goofball and likes to do tricks with his tongue.
